Welcome to the California Society of Enrolled Agents

CSEA is the California professional membership association for Enrolled Agents (EAs).

EAs are licensed by the federal government to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and assist with tax planning and the preparation of tax returns. Because EAs specialize in taxes and tax planning, they're known as The Tax Professionals. Their federal designation gives them access and insight with federal and state agencies no matter where the EA practices and no matter where the taxpayer lives.

CSEA is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization with more than 4,000 active Members. Our Mission is to foster the professionalism, business development and personal growth of our Members, protect their professional interests as they serve taxpayers, and enhance the awareness and role of the Enrolled Agent among members of the public, other professions and with governmental agencies.

Enrolled Agents who join CSEA agree to abide by a strict code of ethics and to fulfill 25% more education per year than other EAs. When looking for help or guidance from a tax professional, taxpayers are therefore urged to find a Member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents to help ensure they don't pay too much or risk an audit.

You can locate an EA in your area by clicking on Find an Enrolled Agent or by calling toll-free 1-800-TAXPRO-5 (1-800-829-7765). Outside California, the Enrolled Agent referral number is 800/424-4339.

If you're an EA or other tax professional, show your commitment to your profession by joining the California Society of Enrolled Agents and start taking advantage of the many Member Benefits we offer. Here's a description of Categories of Membership.
